Message	and I agree with you...except for the cost of additional specialized tools and procedures... me personally tho, I'd rather stand over an expert, or have an expert stand over the machinest... In my case, i'm planning on having the short block fully balanced and assembled for me. But the kids need to take in consideration the Pros and Cons of each direction. Regardless, the machine shop can balance the internals without 'assembling' the block.
